A multihead weigher is normally the stronger comparison when weight control, product value or density variation makes individual pack weight important. A volumetric cup filler may suit stable, free-flowing products where a simple fixed-volume dose is commercially acceptable. The correct route depends on the product, target, density variation, required output, pack opening, cleaning and the acceptance method.

State whether the project is governed by a target weight, a minimum quantity, an average system or a simple portion-volume requirement. Do not assume a volumetric dose is equivalent to a controlled weight.

Cleaning depends on product retention, access, the number and shape of contact parts, surface finish and the site's cleaning method. Compare the actual contact path and changeover procedure rather than machine size alone.
